Language learning can be a lifestyle choice and I highly recommend it! This short review offers some of my opinions and perceptions of the popular Duolingo language learning platform (app and website) on which I opened a profile in 2013. Specifically I mention some of the newer features and those aspects of the platform that I like best. Generally, among the strategies for learning a language, I always recommend what is free or the least costly. Speaking with native speakers and reading are two great ways to improve your language skills.
Duolingo is a tool I can recommend for many reasons, but I want to emphasize that I do not recommend it as the only tool to learn a language. Culturally authentic source and materials are the best, and there are more sound methods for language acquisition than those on Duolingo, but to say the least, it is an advanced media tool that is widely available on the internet and on the go. There are many positive and negative aspects to the extensive platform that they offer, but on the whole, Duolingo is quite impressive and significan as a 21st Century a learning tool from my perspective. It's like a game and can be a fun way to use your time wisely.

Aaron BurnsI'm an entrepreneurial linguist and musician, a European in a former life, and an indefatigable conversationalist (like June). I'm available for hire as coach, teacher, writer, editor, analyst, consultant, marketeer, content specialist, translator, interpreter, MC, facilitator or performer. This blog is a portfolio of my interest and abilities in various languages of which I have extensive knowledge. I am also a student of several other languages that I am less intimately familiar with and they all bring me great joy. I currently hold degrees in Language and Literature as well as in Vocal Music Performance, both fields in which poetics and interpretation are no strangers. Archives
